Edinah M

Edinah is 9 years old, born ins 2009 right outside of Mansa town, in a rural village. When she was five years old, she was moved into Mansa township area with her aunty because both her of parents had died. Edinah still lives with her aunt, who sells tomatoes in front of their house. There are 8 people in the one household, however Edinah is the youngest. She has one younger sister but she doesn’t live with her, that sister lives with a different aunty nearby. Edinah’s house chores are to sweep the surroundings each morning before school and fetch water at the borehole for the entire household.

Edinah has had a rough life but she hasn’t let that keep her down. She is currently in grade 3 at Mansa West Community School where she is excelling in her classes, especially science because that is her favorite. When we asked her why, she said, “Because I want to be a nurse and save people.” Pretty good answer for such a young girl. For fun, she loves skipping ropes and playing dodgeball with her friends at school at Mansa Fountain of Blessings.

She enjoys going to church at Pentecostal Holiness with her family.

She loves being a part of Mansa Fountain of Blessings because of all the new sister friends she has made. When we asked her about the brothers, she said they were okay too. Edinah is very quiet but she isn’t afraid to tell you what she wants. She loves participating in Bible lessons and is very thankful for the education Mansa Fountain of Blessings is sponsoring her with at her school.
